What is Shihanmato Archery?
It is a form of archery that originated in Obi, Nichinan City, Miyazaki Prefecture. It is designated as an intangible folk-cultural property of Nichinan City. 30 arrows are shot from a sitting position at a target located 8.2m away. The length of the arrow is 1.36 m and the target is 13.6 cm in diameter. The archer who makes the most hits wins.
1,500 yen (Duration: 1-2 hours)
- Try the posture without a bow and arrow
- Get into the posture with a bow, check your posture, and learn how to set an arrow
- Set an arrow and shoot it at your own pace (30 shots)
- We take two participants at a time.
- Arrows for children are also available. (suitable for 3rd graders and up)
- We have all the required equipment. Please wear comfortable clothes
- If you have difficulty kneeling, please let us know and we will have a small chair ready.
- We will take photos of you shooting arrow with your camera and smartphone.
